WHO IS KESHIA?

Keshia is proud to be running for the North Carolina Senate in District 34 not as a politician or Raleigh-insider, but as a mother, wife, social worker, and community leader with a record of results to show for it. Keshia and her husband Rick have been married for 20 years and have lived in Cabarrus County since 1996. While Keshia is proud to have chosen a career in clinical social work where she can use her servant leadership every day to assist the most vulnerable, her most important job by far is parenting two awesome kids: Britany and Rick Jr.

The Sandidge family is “perfectly imperfect” and proud of it. In fact, Keshia believes her family has thrived in Cabarrus County because “perfectly imperfect” is the soul of this community – it means that although we may not always get it right, we live our lives guided by hard work, determination, commitment to our values, faith and family. That is what has made Cabarrus great, and that is what Keshia plans to take to Raleigh.

Whether it’s being a mom, a social worker, or a leader on the Board of Education, her strategy is the same: identify the problem and find a solution that works for everyone. Regardless of race or socioeconomic status, you deserve a representative in Raleigh who will stand up for your interests and will never forget the community she serves.

HEARTBEAT OF CABARRUS

Over the next 75 days, Keshia will start a Heartbeat of Cabarrus listening tour focused on meeting the everyday Cabarrus residents who make this community great: law enforcement officials and first responders, small business owners and entrepreneurs, gun owners and advocates, community faith leaders, medical professionals, educators and administrators, environmental activists, parents and their kids that will be our future, and other citizens of our great county. This listening tour stems from the acknowledgement that one person alone cannot advocate for the values of Cabarrus County in Raleigh. Our platform will reflect the conversations that Keshia has with these community leaders, and she will fight tirelessly for these issues in the North Carolina Senate.
